Callie felt Lukas' arm around her shoulders so she leaned her head towards him and focused her eyes again on the movie. It was quite interesting, but some of the graphics were quite horrific. A splay of blood splashed across the screen and Callie looked away, burying her head into Lukas' neck.

Lukas made a bit of a face at the scene, but soon it had transformed into more of a smug expression as Callie came closer, looking away from the scene. Ouch... If I weren't supposed to be the supportive one, I wouldn't have minded looking away at that part, Lukas thought, wincing. However, most of his attention was on Callie, anyway, so he didn't experience the whole graphic experience, as it were. But that didn't mean he wasn't able to fit in a witty comment here and there for his girlfriend's benefit--no, he still had a few of those to crack.

Callie sighed in relief as the movie reached it's intermission. She felt vulnerable as she clung to Lukas. Realizing what she looked like right now, Callie peeled herself off of Lukas and straightened herself with a soft laugh. "Sorry 'bout that."

Lukas personally felt a bit sorry that she was sorry about that--he didn't mind. He wondered whether or not he should tell her. Debating for maybe a second, he took a gamble saying, "The movie's pretty bad; I don't mind if it helps take your mind off it."
He sighed mentally, a little frustrated with himself. He had been with quite a few women in his time and things always came easily for him; he knew what to say and when to say it and he always ended up happy. But with Callie... boy, was she different!
He was a confident kind of guy, make no mistake, but she always took his breath away--along with his easy-coming sense of cool. He always had to question what he did, make decisions, take time with her. And he knew why: he was afraid that with one wrong move he could lose her forever.
Not that he'd ever actually admit that to anyone. So instead he flashed her an innocent but thoroughly dazzling smile, hoping that she would reply or maybe even come close again.
